Well what a surprise we had Friday 27th January when the Prime Minister, Mr Rishi Sunak and his team came to pay us a visit at the Garrison Church where we rehearse.
Well, actually, a bit of preplanning with the help of Dr Jane Scott, Choir Chair, Mr Ben Noble, Musical Director, Major John Cronin Chief of Staff and the military and ministerial teams and the Military Wags Choir committee all made sure that everything was a success and that Rishi and his team were given the warmest of welcomes.
We were delighted to perform a few pieces from our Les Mis repertoire, Rishi’s reported favourite, and afterwards everyone enjoyed a well deserved brew and cakes in the Church Annexe in true WAGS style. What a fitting way, too, to welcome our new Padre, Major Andy Grant in his first ‘gig’ at Catterick Garrison, no pressure, Padre! A thoroughly enjoyable end to the week for the Military WAGS Choir!
